Horizon Forbidden West

Horizon Forbidden West is a third-person action game set in a future world where nature has taken back the land and giant machines walk around like animals. You play as Aloy, a hunter and explorer who uses a bow, traps and gadgets to fight these machines and uncover secrets of the old world. The game is very colorful and detailed: beaches, deserts, jungles, snowy mountains and underwater areas, all with strong lighting and many small details.

The combat is all about aiming, timing and planning. Machines have weak points and different parts that you can shoot off. For example, if you hit a tank or weapon on a machine, it might explode or fall to the ground so you can use it. You can slow time while aiming, set traps on the ground, or use different arrow types to control the fight. As you level up, you unlock new skills and special abilities that make Aloy more flexible in battle. It feels very satisfying when you take down a big machine using smart moves instead of just button-mashing.

The game is also strong in story and worldbuilding. You meet different tribes, each with their own clothing style, rules and problems. Dialogues often give you choices in what to say, and side quests sometimes feel like small stories, not just "go there and pick up item".
